stuart yorkIt is with the utmost regret that I have to advise you that our President Stuart York passed away in the early hours of Friday 23rd August, having been suffering from cancer, which was diagnosed just before last Christmas.

Stuart, who was 80 years old, played 35 Championship matches for the County between 1971 and 1979, once scoring 118 not out against Hertfordshire; he also scored 73 not out at Lord’s against Middlesex in the Gillette Cup.  He served in various capacities on the Committee from 1983 onwards, managed the Club’s first overseas tour to Australia in 1989, was Chairman from 1997 to 2010 and President since 2014.  He was one of only three Honorary Life Members. As well as being an outstanding servant of the Club, he attend, with his wife Pat, almost every match, home and away and was always excellent company.  He will be greatly missed, not only by our club and High Wycombe CC, but also by the wider Minor Counties community.
