Simon Trotter

It is with sadness that we report the death of Simon Trotter. He was just 53.

Simon joined High Wycombe CC in 1987 when he was 21 and played the entire season in the TVL winning side before becoming vice-captain in 1988.  He was a fine middle-order batsman who drove powerfully through the covers and an occasional leg-break bowler. During his years at HWCC he also played for the Bucks U25 team.

In 1993 he joined Marlow CC and played for the 1st X1 for many years until the first stage of his illness was diagnosed. He remained highly committed to the club and to cricket. He became 1st X1 manager and was club secretary for the past 12 years and during these years he ran County U12s, U14s and U17s sides.

A teammate and man of enormous integrity Simon threw himself wholeheartedly into every role he undertook and won the respect of everyone on and off the field, players, parents and colleagues alike.  He managed his illness for many years so that he could remain extremely active but became unwell early in July and passed away on Monday 29th.

He leaves his wife Caroline and the three girls, Jess, Lottie and Hannah. As yet, funeral arrangements are unknown but will be advised in due course.
