Umpire courses

Published: Wednesday, 27 November 2019

Fancy becoming a cricket umpire now or in the future? Just interested in knowing more about the Laws of cricket?

The Bucks Association of Cricket Officials (BACO), in association with the ECB, are running courses in the New Year to train new umpires or interested cricket enthusiasts, so that you could be standing in league matches in 2020.
Cricket enthusiasts, young and old, and players are encouraged to attend the courses, which cost £30 and then £10 if you complete Stage 2 in the same year.

There are two stages to the process:

Stage One will give an overview of the laws and basic fieldcraft to enable umpires to stand in matches at basic recreational level.
Those who want to progress  further can attend

Stage Two, which is designed to enable them to become members of a league panel.

There are two venues - one in the north of the county and one in the south.
Drayton Parslow Sports and Social Club (North): Saturday February 1 & 15, 9am to 4pm.
Stoke Green CC (South): Saturday February 8 & 22, 9am to 4pm.

Drayton Parslow: Saturday March 21, 9am to 4pm.
Stoke Green: Saturday March 28, 9am to 4pm.
To register go online to the ECB website under 'Be Involved' tab for Officials and 'Find a Course'.
