Bucks lose out to Herts T20 semi

A superb innings from Saif Zaib could not prevent Bucks bowing out in the semi-finals of the Unicorns Counties T20 competition at Wormsley on Sunday.

Bucks went into the finals day in confident mood, having won seven of their eight group matches, but lost by 12 runs to eventual champions Hertfordshire.
Winning the toss, Herts rattled up 180-8 from their 20 overs, led by Reece Hussain's 67 from 42 balls. Spinners Zaib (3-38) and Masoor Khan (2-27) were the pick of the Bucks attack.
This was a huge target for Bucks to chase, but thanks to Zaib they came very close.

The Northants all-rounder slammed 86 off just 48 balls with a six and 14 fours to give them a,chance. But losing three wickets in three balls on 164 ended their chances and they finished on 168-8.

Hertfordshire went on the lift the title with a one-sided nine-wicket win over Dorset in the final.

Bucks now turn their attentions this Sunday to their final three-day Championship match against Cumberland  at Tring Park.
The hosts need to win the match to stand any chance of making the top five in the Eastern Division table and secure a place in next season's Eastern Division 1 table, following a restructuring of the competition.
